Good Afternoon Parents –
What a great Open House we had last night! There was so much excitement among the students, parents, and teachers alike, in anticipation of beginning a new year together. Below are some pictures I took of our teachers and some families, so excited to start the new year!
Below are a few important reminders and announcements:
-Please make sure to fill out and turn in all of the important paperwork that you received at Open House. Please have everything turned in by Friday, September 9.
-Our B.A.S.E. program (Best After School Enrichment, which is our “after school childcare”) is almost full. If you are interested in your child going to B.A.S.E., please register with Mary Schaeppi (
mschaeppi@ststephenchurch.org) as soon as possible to secure your child’s spot. Some days of the week only have 2 openings left!
-B.A.S.E. We also need two more people to work at BASE. Parents, grandparents, and friends, if you are interested in working at B.A.S.E. (Best After School Enrichment), please email Mary Schaeppi at
mschaeppi@ststephenchurch.org) This is a paid position, and it is a great deal of fun too!
-7th grade student schedules were printed with an error in Art/Music. Schedules have been reprinted and you will find them in your advisory on the first day of school.
-DID YOU KNOW? Did you know that St. Stephen’s Catholic School made the cover page of the latest edition of The Catholic Spirit? Our new Food Service Director, Chef Faith, is pictured making gingerbread cookies with one of our incoming 1st graders.
I want to thank our staff and teachers for their hard work preparing classrooms and every part of our school to be ready for our Open House last evening, and for the start of the school year. I also want to thank you, parents, and guardians, for spending last evening with us and for choosing a Catholic education, for choosing St. Stephen’s, for your child.
I wish you a safe and fun-filled long Labor Day weekend. We are beyond excited to welcome your children back to school on Tuesday, September 6, for another great year of celebrating a caring, Christian community that nourishes spiritual development and academic excellence!
In Christ,
Theresa Gunderson, Principal
